 |
| A native of Austria, but introduced into Alsace during the 18th century. This less vigorous but consistent variety makes up nearly 20% of Alsatian vineyard planting.
The Sylvaner is a fresh, fruity wine with aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits, thirst quenching and exuberant. Its light, delicate character is the perfect accompaniment to seafood, fish and cold meats.
According to the brotherhood of Saint-Etienne, AMBIGU –plus important - the largest OR most important Alsatian wine producers brotherhood, the Sylvaner is ‘the most convivial of Alsace’s wines’.
It’s this characteristic that we’re most attached to: we create our Sylvaner wines in this spirit, being careful to keep the fruity character of this wine, while refining its acidity, which can sometimes be a little surprising.
